Stay Kosher on Campus
Overview
Keeping Kosher in Oxford has never been easier! The
Oxford Jewish Congregation provide and subsidise excellent
quality meals every weekday evening at the Oxford Jewish Centre
(OJC) in Jericho. At the end of each day, a nice sized group come
to eat and enjoy each other's company, sometimes chilling in the
JSOC lounge after dinner.
Shabbat meals are very popular, with
Friday night attendance ranging from 50 to 150, and we often have
top quality speakers or exciting themes; this Michaelmas our
"Jewniversity Challenge" Friday Night will bring in teams from
JSOCs nationwide. Shabbat lunch is a slightly smaller affair,
with more shabbat singing and an excellent atmosphere. Seuda
shlishit (the third meal) is held in a different place each week,
involves plenty of food, atmospheric singing and is totally free.
We are lucky in Oxford to have a wonderful meals service and a
great atmosphere, making JSoc meals a wonderful alternative to
college hall and making a kosher life so much tastier, economical
and appealing. Come and have a go....
